Study develops a new test for detecting presence of MAP; could be very useful for Crohn's as well.

|
|
Despite the dramatic increase in MAP infection and crohns over the past 10 years, Uk type 1 only diabetes increased from 33774 in 98/99 to 35462 in 07/08.
Type 2 increased from 22852 to 33444 over the same period, this puts the crohns problem into perspective.
There were 77982 crohns/colitis hospital episodes in 07/08 and 56626 diabetes.
Bowel disease victims are not given the publicity we deserve from these facts, and diabetes victims are being blamed for eating too much.
Bowel disease is being seen as a genetic weakness as opposed to a human tragedy caused by insufficient research and diseased animals? |

You can get the full study at http://www.ccfc.ca/English/index.html
It is on the homepage at the top right. When this paper was first presented they had a good graph of the incidences of different diseases in Canada, IBD was up there...
